John 14:26 – ERV

But the Helper will teach you everything and cause you to remember all that I told you.

This Helper is the Holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name.

I have visited many of our seniors in their homes and in nursing homes over the years.

Quite often they have forgotten basic things relating to their life, family and even their

surroundings. The amazing thing to me is that many have no trouble recalling verbatim

the lyrics to spiritual songs or the lines of Holy Scripture. I look up to heaven smile and

say, thank God for being our Helper.

Dear Lord:

Thank you for Your precious promise that the Holy Spirit will bring to our memory all

things pertaining to you. As we gracefully age, help us in the midst of being forgetful

to always remember You and Your words.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
